One of the things that you're concerned about is what happens to my driver's license when I'm convicted of a DUI? On a first offense there's a mandatory loss of your license for a period of one year. On a second offense within ten years, there is a three year license suspension. If it is a third offense within ten years it is a lifetime suspension of your license. Depending on whether or not it is a first or second offense there is a period of time that you may be without a license all together. But, normally on a first offense, you will be able to get a restricted permit if you are convicted.
